Bangkok to Ayutthaya: Private day trip
与当地司机的私人行程
关于您的行程
Enjoy a day exploring the “Lost Kingdom” of Ayutthaya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site filled with stunning temples and ancient palaces. Once Thailand’s capital, the city is now home to the remnants of a fallen kingdom, where tall temple prangs stand starkly against the landscape, creating an otherworldly appeal.
You are free to explore this historic site at your own pace, taking in incredible Buddhist temples within walking distance of the city center. Highlights include Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Ratchaburana, and Wat Mahathat, the city's oldest temple, famous for the image of a Buddha head entwined in tree roots.
For those interested in additional sites, other iconic temples are located about a 40-minute walk from the center. Take your time discovering the towering statues and ruins until it’s time to meet your driver for a seamless return journey.

Main attractions • The former capital of the Kingdom of Siam from 1351 to 1767 — Ayutthaya was one of the largest and wealthiest cities in the medieval world before its destruction by the Burmese army; the UNESCO-listed historical park preserves the ruins of palaces, monasteries and hundreds of chedis across a river-island site of extraordinary atmosphere • Wat Mahathat's most celebrated image — a sandstone Buddha head entwined within the roots of a bodhi tree, created accidentally when the tree grew around a displaced sculpture — has become one of the most recognisable images in Thailand • Wat Phra Si Sanphet preserves three restored 15th-century chedis in a row — the royal temple of the Ayutthaya kings and the visual anchor of the entire historical park
Take note • The site is best navigated by bicycle or tuk-tuk — distances between temples are too spread for walking in the heat; modest dress required throughout
