Amalfi Coast Essentials: Private day trip from Sorrento

The Amalfi Coast’s most photogenic village tumbles down cliffs in a cascade of peach-and-pink houses. It’s Instagram-famous for a reason, but secret corners remain. Start your leisurely tour of Positano with a trip to Via dei Mulini, where you can spend 30 minutes shopping for linen and handmade ceramics. Then visit Spiaggia Grande, the serene pebble beach offering iconic views across the water. After an hour, visit Santa Maria Assunta, where you can see a Byzantine Black Madonna. Then, hike along part of the Path of the Gods (this can take several hours, but you can always tackle a small section). Finish your explorations with a stop at Franco’s Bar, where you can indulge in an Aperitivo with a view. Be sure to get there before 5 PM to snag one of the coveted terrace seats.

In around 45 minutes, you’ll take in incredible views on the journey up and the unforgettable architecture inside. Then, head to a family-owned limoneto where you can spend an hour touring the lemon production process and sample freshly made lemon granita at Pansa. Finally, visit the paper museum to learn more about the area’s handmade paper tradition (going strong since 1266!) Spend 30 minutes exploring the museum before heading to your next stop.

Enjoy Ravello, and feel on top of the world in cliffside gardens dotted with traditional ceramics. Explore the enchanting sky gardens of Ravello, starting with an hour spent at Villa Cimbrone, the Terrace of Infinity. Then, head to Villa Rufolo for a 45-minute exploration of its Moorish gardens and the Wagner concert stage. After that, enjoy lunch with a view of Da Salvatore’s (try the traditional lemon risotto). Finally, take half an hour to visit Ceramiche d’Arte and appreciate the iconic hand-painted lemon-yellow and blue ceramics.
