Quito to Cotopaxi National Park: Private day trip

Being only 37 miles from the capital Quito, Cotopaxi National Park is where many Ecuadorians come to touch snow for the first time. At 5,900 metres Cotopaxi is one of the world’s highest active volcanoes. The entrance to the park starts at Laguna de Limpiopungo, a shallow lake that can be circumambulated in about 90 minutes. It is the perfect way to experience this park without breaking much of a sweat, being a hiking trail without any undulations. With a little luck you will get a breathtaking view of the volcano and a magnificent photo of the mountain reflected on the mirror-like lagoon. There are also horseback riding possibilities (please booking this in advance) if you want to go easy on your legs. Or maybe a bike tour - e-bikes are available if you want to ascend the slopes a little easier! Please don’t forget to bring warm and waterproof clothing. Your driver will take you to the entrance to the national park and can help you hire a certified local guide if you haven't done so in advance.
