Sarajevo to Medjugorje and Kravica Falls: Private day trip

The village of Medjugorje is located in the southern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, close to the Croatian border. The small parish is made up of five villages, where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to six people in 1981. Apparition Hill, a religious mecca, is the site where the first apparitions of the Virgin Mary were documented. The rocky path up to high hill gives way to a serene statue of Our Lady and a cross. It’s a place where many come to reflect and pray. Visitors also gather at St. James Church for daily mass. The Kravice Falls are situated on the Trebizat River. The area is a large lake surrounded by 25m waterfalls. The lake becomes shallow enough for visitors to take a dip in or even try out the rope swing. Although the water temperature is chilly year-round (around 8 degrees celsius), that doesn’t stop visitors from taking a swim in the crystal-clear water!
