Salzburg
N'hésitez pas à explorer à votre propre rythme et à découvrir
Arrêt : 3 h 30 min - entrée non incluse
Salzburg is picture book Austria and no visitor should miss out on the view of the Old Town’s kaleidoscope of domes and spires, the imposing castle fortress and the stunning alpine scenery of the mountains that lie beyond. The Old Town is a place where time easily slips by as you wander and wander. Check out Mozart’s birthplace and soak up the grandeur of the churches and monumental squares that appear one after the other. The city also rewards those who are prepared to look slightly further afield. Meander the narrow side streets accompanied by the classical music that seems to waft from each window and stop by one of the city’s café’s to sample the mouthwatering cake and coffee. Let Salzburg work its charm on you to leave you with an unforgettable memory as you absorb its incredible skyline, the ever-present music and its thousand-year-old history.

Hallstatt
N'hésitez pas à explorer à votre propre rythme et à découvrir
Arrêt : 3 heures - entrée non incluse
Hallstatt's allure is plain to see: a picture-perfect town on an alpine lake surrounded by mountains. Walk the streets past the centuries-old buildings, and simply take in the amazing views. The charming town is so popular that an exact replica was built in Huizo, China as a tourist attraction. Towering over the picturesque town is the oldest salt mine in the world - the Salzberg (Salt Mountain), where you can explore tunnels dug by hand over 3000 years ago. If you’ve never been to a salt mine, then this is the place to do it. Head to the top of the mountain on foot or by funicular to the spectacular viewing platform that hovers above the rooftops of the town below and offers eye-popping panoramic views of Lake Hallstatt and the mountain scenery. Listen to the gentle lapping of the lake before launching yourself down one of the two 200-foot slides in the mine. Then sit back and relax on the train that takes you out of the mountain at a gentler pace. We recommend adding an extra 2 hours to your visit if you'd like to venture into the mines. For those looking to delve underground again, the Dachstein Ice Caves overlooking the lake are a breathtaking natural phenomenon. Be sure to wear warm clothing and add another 2 hours to your stop.

Daytrip est apprécié dans le monde entier. Voici pourquoi.
During your 3.5-hour Salzburg visit, prioritize the historic Altstadt (Old Town), a UNESCO World Heritage site featuring Baroque architecture. Explore Getreidegasse with its decorative guild signs and Mozart's birthplace, visit the impressive Salzburg Cathedral, and stroll through the beautiful Mirabell Gardens where "Sound of Music" scenes were filmed. If time permits, take the funicular to Hohensalzburg Fortress for panoramic city views or visit the modern Museum of Modern Art on Monchsberg. This compact city center allows efficient exploration of major highlights within your timeframe.
Hallstatt is renowned as one of the world's most picturesque villages, with pastel-colored houses clinging to a narrow strip between mountain and lake. During your 3-hour visit, photograph the classic postcard view from the south, explore the village's narrow lanes and market square, and visit the charming waterfront with its swan-filled lake. The village's extraordinary setting, combined with its well-preserved Alpine architecture and reflections in the crystal-clear lake, has made it an iconic destination that actually inspired a full-scale replica in China.
Maximize your 3-hour Hallstatt visit by starting with the scenic lakeside promenade for classic village views. Visit the Lutheran Church for elevated perspectives, then explore the central market square with its traditional buildings. For deeper historical context, consider the Hallstatt Museum showcasing 7,000 years of settlement including Celtic salt mining artifacts. If time permits, take the funicular to the Skywalk viewing platform for spectacular panoramas of the lake and Alps, or visit the prehistoric burial ground that gave its name to the Hallstatt culture.
Munich to Salzburg is approximately 150 kilometers (93 miles), with a driving time of about 1.5 hours. From Salzburg to Hallstatt is roughly 85 kilometers (53 miles), adding another 1.5 hours of driving. The total round-trip journey involves about 5 hours of driving through the scenic Bavarian and Austrian countryside and Alpine landscapes. Your private Daytrip driver handles all transportation logistics, allowing you to relax and enjoy the changing scenery between destinations.
Both Germany and Austria are within the Schengen Area, so border crossings are typically seamless without passport control. However, always carry your passport or national ID card (for EU citizens) during international travel. Occasional random checks may occur. For non-EU visitors, ensure your visa allows multiple entries if applicable. Your driver will handle any practical aspects of the border crossing, but having identification readily available is recommended.
In Salzburg, sample the famous Mozartkugeln (chocolate-marzipan balls), traditional Salzburger Nockerl (sweet souffle), or hearty Kasnocken (cheese dumplings). Visit Cafe Tomaselli, dating to 1705, for classic Austrian coffee culture. In Hallstatt, try local freshwater fish like Reinanke (whitefish) at lakeside restaurants, or sample Upper Austrian specialties like Schweinsbraten (roast pork) with dumplings. Both locations offer excellent opportunities to taste Austrian wines and beers, particularly refreshing after exploring these historic destinations.
Late spring through early fall (May-September) offers the most pleasant conditions, with summer providing long daylight hours and lively atmosphere. However, summer brings peak tourist numbers, particularly in compact Hallstatt. The shoulder seasons (April-May and September-October) balance good weather with fewer crowds. Winter visits offer magical snow-covered landscapes and Christmas markets in Salzburg (late November to December), though some Hallstatt attractions may have limited hours. Consider an early morning departure from Munich to maximize daylight exploration time.
