Krka National Park
Situated along the Krka River in Central Dalmatia, Krka National Park's lakes and waterfalls make it the ideal spot for swimming and exploring nature. More than half of the Krka River is part of the national park, which includes the majority of the river lakes and two waterfall systems - Roski Slap and Skradinski Buk. There are over 222 bird species and 17 fish species to spot in the area. Along with its abundant wildlife, Krka also houses an ethnographic museum, the Visovac Monastery, and many caves and ruins. The nature trails and wooden bridges make it easy to navigate the park while enjoying the nature scenery.

Skradin
While there’s nothing left of the original Roman settlement, the ancient town of Skradin still offers plenty of old world charm. The quiet cobbled streets are lined with traditional houses, some still pockmarked from the Homeland War in the 1990s. The 18th century Baroque Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands on the foundation of the old cathedral, which was destroyed by the Turks. Its pipe organ is registered as part of the national cultural heritage. Skradin’s iconic clock tower from 1872 was built on the nearest cliff, rather than right next to the church as is customary. However, the locals might be most proud of their Skradinski Rižot, or 12-hour Risotto, which was featured on Anthony Bourdain’s 'No Reservations'. Since it really does take 12 hours to prepare, you should make advance reservations to experience this unique dish.
