Volos
Today, Volos is bustling Greek city and one of the country's most prominent ports. During the time of the ancient Greeks, the region around Volos was the birthplace of the mythical Centaurs. Half human, half horse, the legend of these creatures has endured to this day. Apart from mythical tales, Volos is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Greece thanks in no small part to its gorgeous seafront lined with small cafƩs and restaurants. Volos castle also should not be missed together with Volos' gorgeous Orthodox churches.

Battle of the Thermophylae Museum
Battle of the Thermophylae Museum
Nearly 2500 years ago, King Leonidas of Sparta led 7,000 men to Thermopylae Pass to stop the Persian army, which ancient sources numbered at 1,000,000. Using the landscape to their advantage, the Greek forces battled the Persians for 3 days, with the King leading his men to everlasting glory in one of the most famous last stands in history. The battle has become synonymous with bravery and sacrifice. To commemorate the event, Greek authorities built an information center explaining every detail of the battle to visitors. The museum uses modern technology like 3D projection to make history come alive.
